As a studio our mission is to enhance life experiences with thoughtful design solutions.  We believe design is not a luxury, that all design solutions are scalable and obtainable when careful planning and imagination are leading the experience.  We affirm that good work takes time and can be achieved best by listening to our clients, working with available technology, respecting budgets and prioritizing quality materials.  Our understanding of the approval process and construction practices help us to facilitate your vision and ensure that your space is functional, aesthetically engaging and uplifting for all users.

Background

It was all a dream; we use to read architecture and design magazines…

Both homegrown on Aquidneck Island, with similar backgrounds; working through college in Newport’s hospitality scene, Jeff studying at Roger Williams University for Architecture, Melissa at University of Rhode Island for Textile Design and Merchandising, the two began idealizing what owning a firm might require of them while overseas in 2008.  Jeff was on work-study and Melissa was undertaking coursework for her master’s in Creative Industries Management abroad.   Sustainable design was the buzz and the ethos of that movement and the work of the groups like AntFarm and Superstudio inspired the duo to keep on the creative journey.

Several years, passport stamps, milestones, and employment experiences later, the team re-established roots in Newport. The depth of history and the casual sophistication of living in a costal New England town drew the couple back for permanent residency.  Now in their fifth year of business the firm has carved a niche in the county for boutique hospitality projects and residential design. As residents of the community, they are personally vested in the success of their projects: happy clients are happy neighbors and successful businesses become the entertainment and revenue generators that continue to make Newport and Rhode Island the treasure that they are proud to call home!
